Flexible Working Inside and Outside the Office

At OI we care about people: part of that means offering a flexible working arrangement to our teams to foster a healthy work-life balance.

The pandemic proved that with our digital set-up we could continue to collaborate effectively outside of the office. This contributed to the implementation of our FlexiWork arrangement. FlexiWork gives our employees the opportunity to establish their own remote working schedule, relying on mutual trust and respect between managers and their team members.

However, we also know that flexibility applies to the workplaces we provide. With this in mind, we recently renovated our corporate office in Hong Kong. In keeping with local tradition, we cut a suckling pig during the official opening ceremony and colleagues who could attend were able to enjoy a delicious lunch.

The new open design provides plenty of space with panoramic views, height-adjustable desks, solo pods, phonebooths, numerous breakout meeting areas, and a spacious contemporary pantry area.

Thanks to FlexiWork, we now need fewer fixed workplaces. In the new office, employees can hot-desk: setting themselves up in unique stations on any given day to suit their needs, depending on what they are working on and who they are working with.

Fewer workstations also allowed us to create a larger communal space where people can relax and mingle together. It even has an inviting pair of swings where colleagues can take in the sea view while taking a break from work.

We hope our colleagues enjoy and can take full advantage of the new amenities in our Hong Kong office.
