In the financial year 2007/2008 (ended on 28th February 2008), the Otto Group increased revenues by 2.4 percent to a new record level after consolidation of 11,513 million euros. "With a sharpened profile for international expansion, innovative ideas and comprehensive services the Otto Group is set up in the best possible way for the future", emphasised Hans-Otto Schrader, Chairman of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Otto Group in June 2008 in Hamburg.

OTTO's "Corporate Sustainability Report 2007" was published in early September 2007. The report gives detailed and systematic information on the ecological and social aspects of business at OTTO, based on the approach of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI G3). In November 2007, OTTO's report was awarded first place in the ranking of the Institute for Ecological Economic Research (Institut fuer oekologische Wirtschaftsforschung - IOW) and the association of enterprises Future e.V.

In the financial year 2006/2007 (ended on 28th February 2007), the Otto Group increased revenues by 4.7 percent to a record 15,251 million euros. The earnings situation was even more gratifying. "I am delighted to end my last year as Chairman of the Executive Board with the best results in the company's history," said Dr. Michael Otto, Chairman of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Otto Group in June 2007 in Hamburg.
